January favourites

Hello guys! So I’m going to start a thing on this blog. Each month, I am going to write a post about the things that I highly recommend. This January, winter is on it’s full blast. In fact, it says on the news that North America is colder than North Pole this week and I happen to live in Canada so yes, the weather has been really crazy. When the weather gets really cold and dry, I exert more effort in taking care of my skin. So for this month, I listed down some of the things that keeps my winter a little bearable and hopefully you guys would like it too.

Mantel Mania: Minimalist Christmas decor

Ever since I was a kid, I always looked forward to decorating for Christmas. Now that I live in Canada, one of the things I love to decorate is our mantel. The fireplace has also become my favourite spot during winter. That’s why I was pumped when Wayfair Canada asked me to share how I decorate our place for Christmas. I had a few ideas in mind, but in the end I came up with a minimalist theme.

What body love truly feels like

“You are beautiful no matter what size you are in.” This is what I tell myself everyday. For so many years, I have grown to be the person who loves and accepts their body. To let no one make me insecure. Believe me, it was quite a process. I have always been the fat kid.. I can’t even think of a day I wasn’t. Loving the body I have is one thing, keeping that confidence is another story.

Why I decided to go Keto

Over the past six months, I have been trying all kinds of diet programs and exercise that could help me lose weight. I tried the military diet, GM diet, banana diet and even those meal plans on Women’s magazine. As much as I believed on these programs, it did not work out the way it should be– well at least for me. There’s a time when I have to starve myself and this result to binge eating at night. Over the past six months, I did not gain weight. But I did not lose any either. That’s when I realized I am done obsessing on diets.

Our bohemian vintage wedding

Hello guys!! So I have been MIA for a few months and I do apologize for not updating my blog quite often. I have been so busy with all the wedding prep and with work, I haven’t been able to squeeze in the time to blog regularly and with that I sincerely apologize. To all my new followers and readers, thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog and read my posts. It really means a lot 🙂 So.. this is the first blog I am ever going to write as Mrs. Scollon. Yes, I am a Mrs. now! Wedding is over. We had our wedding in a garden in St. Albert, Alberta last summer and it was the best day of our lives.  We had a bohemian vintage themed wedding because, as you have seen in my previous posts, I am in love of everything boho and vintage, and I am so glad that my husband agreed to this as well lol. So now I am about to share with you some photos of our wedding and I hope you guys will like it as much as we do.

Edmonton Bloggers Brunch

I never took blogging seriously until fall of last year. So when I  did, I looked for ways to connect with other bloggers, especially those who are in the city. I got invited to an event back in January but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend. Finally, just last Sunday, I was able to meet passionate bloggers from Edmonton in our bloggers brunch held at the Craft Beer Market.  The event was arranged by Christine Bruckmann, from Just another Edmonton mommy.  She is also the admin of the Bloggers in Edmonton group on Facebook, if I’m not mistaken. This was my first networking and bloggers event so imagine how stoked I was!

Cory Christopher’s Build your own Terrarium

Terrariums are a great staple, especially when you are into vintage or bohemian vibe or simply someone who likes maintaining an indoor garden. I always wanted to make my own. I dropped by the Cory Christopher booth at the  EHGS 2017 and when I saw that they were offering a terrarium workshop, I didn’t hesitate to sign up. A terrarium workshop originally costs $110 but for only $20, I was able to make my own and the best part was I got to bring it home lol.
